The words we use on purpose.
These pages use a small set of words precisely, and this page says what each one means.
The system itself
The Brain
One memory of work across systems, judging what deserves attention, acting only with a human yes.
Chief
The product name of the Brain, WorkElate Chief; the two words mean the same thing here.
Work graph
One map of how your deals, threads, tickets, documents and people connect.
Business object
One kind of thing it can act on: a document, a deck, a mail thread, a commitment.
Organization memory
The facts it keeps about one company, each stamped with which company it belongs to.
Decision history
What was approved, declined and left alone, read back the next time something similar happens.
How it comes to know anything
Signal
What your tools record as work happens, a ticket opened, a date moved; it reports, never decides.
Declared event
An event an application tells the Brain it records; nothing is scraped.
Folder scope
Reading everything filed against one client as one folder, not one application’s slice of it.
Document grounding
Reading the contract or written policy at the moment of the decision, so two clients are judged on their own terms.
Judgment
A decision reasoned over context against a written policy, not a rule firing.
How it decides whether to speak
Interruption budget
A cap on interruptions: 40 an hour company-wide, 5 per person, changed by saying so.
Cooldown
The minimum interval before the same item may be raised again; a hundred form submissions produce one item.
Ranked briefing
The short ordered list a person meets in the morning, composed by judgment, not by sorting a feed.
Reason line
The sentence saying why an item is on your list, and from what it was concluded.
Blocker line
The sentence saying what the item is waiting on, and who.
Honest refusal
It says no, and says what is missing, instead of quietly doing the nearest thing.
What it is allowed to do
Verb
One of fifteen: find, read, research, recall, remember, ask, create, edit, improve, delete, send, share, schedule, assign, judge.
Action
One concrete thing a verb turns into, in one application.
Confirm gate
The stop in front of a consequential action, waiting for a person to click yes; the AI cannot open it.
Destructive action
An action that requires that yes: anything that sends, deletes or shares.
Read after write
The first check between doing and saying: the change landed in your own data before it tells you.
Claim check
The second check: what it tells you is compared with what happened, not what you asked.
