The Brain / Capabilities / Plain-language preferences
REASONChange its behaviour
by saying so in plain words.
Tell it nothing before nine and that is the setting: how often it interrupts, when and to whom are stored as the sentence that stated them.
Three sentences, three changes
Nothing before nine, nothing after seven
Quiet hours ship empty, so an organization that wants them says so; the work still accrues, the raising waits.
Month end, finance wants invoices only
Stated once by the finance lead, applied to that team, and the rest of the company is untouched.
Stop asking twice about one client
That sentence becomes a rule: one subject raised once, then updated rather than repeated.
Three properties that keep this honest
The sentence is stored with the value
Anyone can read back what the company asked for, and changing the sentence changes the behaviour.
Defaults are deliberately low
The default cap, 40 interruptions an hour company-wide and 5 per person, is a ceiling, not a target.
Preferences never become business rules
You can change how loud it is, when and to whom; you cannot write a rule that decides an outcome.
Three honest limits
Not an unlimited instruction box; a missing capability gets a no.
Not a permissions system.
It will not remember a preference nobody stated.
